Introducing the 508 CSF/WF
Description
Robust Commercial hot foiling machine utilising a state of the art
Programmable Logic Control system and mechanical impression
mechanism which can apply up to 30,000 kgs of pressure. The machine
has been developed with high output production in mind. Designed to
be used to stamp continuous pack to pack stationery and continuous
reel to reel web in stand-alone or fully integrated versions, the 508 CSF/
WF can meet most production needs.
Purpose
The 508 CSF/WF machine is used to quickly validate, authenticate and
protect documents by means of applying security features onto the
documents. Holograms can be applied in either patch or continuous
striping, which are difficult to copy or reproduce, DATAFOIL® which is a
clear foil based protection can be applied over data allowing the data to
still be visible and cannot be removed without leaving evidence of
tampering. SECURIGRAFIX® can be applied which is difficult to
photocopy (with correct foil selection) or reproduce and is used to
identify and authenticate documents.
Paper Feed System
The 508 CSF/WF machine is designed to be fully flexible, by adding or
removing paper unwind and rewind stands the press can change
production format, making the press the ideal selection for the security
printer. Full integration into existing print production lines can be carried
out by SFL's experienced technicians, so reducing the need for offline
document production.A comprehensive edge guiding paper control system
ensures accurate and reliable registration to print.

Web without sprocket holes can be processed along with registration to
print sensing requirements when these options are specified at the time
of purchase.
Foil Unit
Two full width foil reel holders in the top of the machine; house the foils
being used for the security applications. The foils are held under tension
that is applied to the side of the foil roll. The foil follows a path through
the machine which takes it between the security die and the document
being processed, then back up to the foil unit which houses the
computer controlled stepper motor which pulls the foil through with great
accuracy. The waste foil is collected on disposable foil cores for quick
and efficient removal under secure conditions. Hologram registration is
optional at extra cost. An air powered foil separation system is
incorporated into the design for ultimate flexibility and reliable results
with a complete range of hot stamping foils. A small compressor
supplied with the machine powers the air separation system. Additional
full width foil units can be specified at the time of purchase.
Hologram Registration System
The hologram registration system is optional and can be located within
the foil path of the machine; it is fully adjustable to allow for positioning
of the hologram on to the document. The system is designed to apply
either one or more holograms per document processed depending upon
requirements.
Impression Unit
The 508CSF/WF machine houses a unique and robust impression
mechanism, which incorporates a removable die plate. The dies are
fixed to the die plate, which are customer specified and positioned to
suit their own application and areas to be foiled on their documents. The
machine can be programmed to carry out multiple stamps of the same
image on the same document as well as applying more than one feature
at a time. The die plate is removable from the back of the machine, the
die plates are interchangeable therefore allowing for different jobs or
spare security dies to be ready mounted for use in the machine.
