Description
Datafoil® is a foil security feature applied to documents,
plastic cards, currency or packaging for identification,
authentication and variable data alteration protection.
The foil used can include transparent holograms as well
as conventional transparent foils. Unique die designs
and secure die manufacturing processes are combined to
create visually attractive images. Application of Datafoil®
over variable data provides not only authentication via
the optical features in the foil and Datafoil® dies
but also offers a simple method for detecting an attempted
alteration. Datafoil® is impressed deeply into the
surface of the document, ensuring maximum adhesion, so
when an attempted alteration is made the criminal will
be required to replace the missing foil and hide damage
to the substrate fibres and print during the removal process.
